What is a dental emergency?
The following conditions are examples of dental emergencies that should be treated as soon as possible.
Lost Filling or Crown
If you have lost or broken a filling or crown, first try to find the piece. Then, rinse the piece and place it back on your tooth. Then call our office immediately to get emergency dental help.
Broken or Chipped Tooth
If you have broken or chipped a tooth, try to locate the missing piece, as your dentist may be able to reattach it. Whether you can find it or not, call our office straight away to book an emergency appointment with a dentist to get it fixed.
Knocked Out Tooth
If you have a knocked out tooth, try to find the tooth. If you can find it, rinse it immediately and try to re-insert it in the socket. Then, bite down on the tooth gently but firmly. If you can't replace the tooth in the socket, keep it moist by holding it in your mouth, or placing it in a glass of milk.
Contact us for an emergency appointment as soon as possible – try to call ahead if you can. The sooner you arrive, the more likely it is that your dentist will be able to save the tooth.
